Summary:Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal analysis is important for estimation of heart work. Manual processing of ECG signals takes a lot of time and is hard to do so we have written a program for ECG signal analysis using MATLAB R2014b. Signal processing is divided into two stages. During the first stage, series of R-R intervals are extracted from ECG signals using the WaveForm DataBase (WFDB) Toolbox for MATLAB. The second one is for calculating heart rate variability (HRV), statistical, spectral, correlation and nonlinear characteristics of the heart with a user-friendly graphical interface, thanks to which users do not have to understand the program code and the mathematical complexity of digital signal processing and can focus their attention on biomedical component of the ECG signal. Derived results could be used in medical institutions, for research proposes and in educational process to further study calculated characteristics of the heart work.
