Sympathetic nervous system activity and α-adrenergic responsiveness in older hypertensive humans

We have previously demonstrated in normotensive humans an age-associated increase in sympathetic nervous system (SNS) activity combined with appropriate downregulation of alpha-adrenergic responsiveness.
