Summary: | A bio-inspired metaheuristics canonical particle multiswarm optimization (CPMSO) algorithm is presented to investigate the optimal deployment pattern for sensors to improve the connectivity in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The proposed algorithm ensures effective deployment by building κ-connected network to tolerate failure while satisfying quality of service (QoS) in terms of energy consumption, delay, and throughput. We prove the effectiveness of the CPMSO algorithm by deploying multitopologies satisfying the QoS and results are compared against the conventional canonical particle swarm optimization (CPSO) and fully particle multiswarm optimization (FPMSO) algorithms. It is shown that CPMSO and FPMSO improve the throughput by approximately 95.23%, while minimizing the energy consumption by 87.5%, and the delay by 95.00% as compared with CPSO. |
