Summary:The results of the synthesis of erbium-doped yttrium-aluminum-garnet nanopowders for obtaining optically transparent ceramic are discussed. The influence of the synthesis conditions on the characteristics of (Y 0.5 Er 0.5 ) 3 Al 5 O 12 powders and the subsequent mechanical working of the powders on the properties of the obtained ceramic was investigated.
