Summary:Some new 6-amino-8-aryl-7-(benzenesulfonyl)-2-(hydroxymethyl)pyrano[3,2- b ]pyran-4(8 H )-ones have been synthesized in improved yields by one-pot three-component reaction of aromatic aldehydes with benzenesulfonylacetonitrile and 5-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)-4 H -pyran-4-one in the presence of nano-silica sulfuric acid. The catalyst can be recovered by simple filtration and reused further.
