AuPd alloy nanoparticles decorated graphitic carbon nitride as an excellent photocatalyst for the visible-light-enhanced Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling reaction

Description
Summary:AuPd alloy nanoparticles (NPs) immobilized on graphitic carbon nitride sheets (AuPd/g-C3N4) were used as an effective the Mott−Schottky-type photocatalyst for the visible-light-enhanced Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling (SMC) reaction at room temperature. The Mott-Schottky-type photocatalyst in the coupling of IB and PBA displayed the high turnover frequency of 7920 h−1, even at low irradiation intensity (50 mW cm−2), at room temperature. The synthesized photocatalyst could be recovered and reused six times without any loss of photoactivity. [Display omitted] •The AuPd/g-C3N4 could be used efficiently for visible-light-induced SMC reaction.•The alloy catalyst displays better photocatalytic activity than the monometallic catalyst.•The photocatalytic activities strongly depend on the Au:Pd ratio of the alloy NPs.•The photocatalytic activities strongly depend on the light irradiation intensity.
