Summary: | Vertical structure of ensemble molecular electronic junction is a widely used platform for investigating the electrical properties of molecular monolayers. Direct metal deposition on the molecular layer, however, causes the shorted circuit problem in the most junctions. One of the methods to avoid this problem is transferring pre-made electrodes on the molecular layer. This article reviews the large-area molecular electronic junctions fabricated in such a way and discusses about their fabrication process, device yield, electrical properties, and applications. The earlier part of this article introduces the molecular junctions with metal (e.g. Au) electrodes transferred in various methods. In the later part, the electrical characteristics and functionalities of the molecular junctions adapting the graphene electrodes are reviewed. |
