Summary: | This article examines how strategic control is different from management control. The author identified two broad approaches to strategic control: one approach where strategic control differs from traditional management control only in terms of the scope of issues it deals with; the other approach in which strategic control is different from management control in terms of its purpose and process as well as its focus. The author then illustrates these two approaches through a case study and discusses the implications for managers. |
