Summary: | Corporate social responsibility in public service media must include the mechanisms, beyond the law, used to guarantee the development of quality journalism, under the mandate of the public service mission and adaptation to the new media scenario. The purpose of this study is to know how public television broadcasting corporations in the European Union have evolved in the last five years in self-regulation systems with respect to this issue. To do this, the indicators established by the international Global Reporting Initiative in the journalistic field are used: public service mission, editorial independence, quality of content, accessibility in the dissemination of content, protection of vulnerable audiences, pluralism, interaction with the public, public content moderation system and media literacy. Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism publicó en 2019 el informe 'Old, educated and politically diverse: the audiencia of public service news' a partir de la investigación de ocho corporaciones europeas que revela su elevado impacto en el escenario offline, pero bajo alcance por la vía de la multiplataforma. |
