Summary: | The collision of a polarizable neutral particle with a charged particle in plasmas is studied. The neutral particle interaction with a charged particle is considered to be due to an induced dipole moment. Taking into account screening and a finite size of colliding particles, we present accurate and simple interpolation formulas for the total scattering cross section in the case of contact of the neutral particle with the dust particle surface. The results are obtained for both weak and strong coupling between colliding particles. |
