Evaluation of cholesterol absorption inhibition of Anti-NPC1L1 IgY by [3H]-labeled cholesterol in Sprague-Dawley rats
This research was conducted to assess the ability of [ 3 H]-cholesterol by co-administered Anti-NPC1L1 (Niemann-Pick C1-Like 1) IgY for measuring the absorption of cholesterol and to evaluate the efficacy of Anti-NPC1L1 IgY as a cholesterol absorption inhibitor in Sprague-Dawley rats model. The rats...

H]-cholesterol by co-administered Anti-NPC1L1 (Niemann-Pick C1-Like 1) IgY for measuring the absorption of cholesterol and to evaluate the efficacy of Anti-NPC1L1 IgY as a cholesterol absorption inhibitor in Sprague-Dawley rats model. The rats were administered with Anti-NPC1L1 IgY, ezetimibe as positive control and yolk powder as vehicle control. Systemic blood, feces, urine and intestine were sampled and the concentration of cholesterol was determined by means of radioactivity. The results indicate that the evaluation of cholesterol absorption inhibition was successfully performed by [

H]-cholesterol. Meanwhile, the administration of Anti-NPC1L1 IgY inhibits cholesterol absorption in Sprague-Dawley rats significantly. |
