Summary:Poly(aniline- co -4-bromoaniline) nanocomposites were prepared via in situ polymerization in different molar ratio in the presence of Cu 2+ −monmorillonite. The X-ray diffraction confirmed that the basal space of Cu 2+ −montmorillonite increased after the organophilization. Poly(aniline- co -4-bromoaniline)/Cu 2+ −monmorillonite nanocomposites were prepared by intercalating of aniline and 4-bromoaniline with treated organically layers of Cu 2+ −monmorillonite following by polymerization initiated by ammonium peroxdisulfate. The nanocomposites were characterized by FTIR, XRD, and UV–Vis spectroscopy.
