Giant leaps in vacuum decay within the Dirac-Born-Infeld theory with two fields

Summary: | We study instanton solutions in a landscape of two scalar fields within the Dirac-Born-Infeld theory. Our work combines both the wrinkle in CdL and giant leaps in the landscape. This can be seen as the high energy extension of Brown-Dahlen's giant leaps in the landscape. We found that the wrinkle lowers the Brown-Dahlen's path and opens the possibility of multi-jump to the same truer vacua. While the giant leaps allow for tunnelling to the farthest possible vacua, the case is more subtle with wrinkle. There exists the farthest bound of vacua we can jump. |
