Summary: | It has been shown that the adsorption of inorganic phosphates, the molecules of which contain one to three phosphorus atoms, on the surface of nanocrystalline titanium dioxide may be interpreted as the formation of complexes of two types, i.e., outer-sphere electrostatic and inner-sphere covalent complexes. The stability constants of the adsorption complexes of both types have been calculated from the experimental dependences of adsorption values on solution pH and ionic strength using the basic Stern model of surface complexation. |
