Description
Summary:A liquid-phase method is used to obtain a precipitation-hardened composite material (PHCM) with aluminum matrix and different volume fractions of Al 2 O 3 ceramic phase. The effects of the main process parameters on formation of structure in the PHCM and the dependence of mechanical properties on the content and sizes of the precipitated phases are studied. It is shown that the liquid-phase method provides PHCM with low porosity and absence of burning. The ceramic phase is distributed in the microstructure uniformly independently of the duration of the process.
