Summary: | Trichostrongyloid nematodes have a distinct set of morphological characteristics, for example, series of cuticular ridges that run along the body, known collectively as the synlophe. The organization of the taxonomic accounts is logical and consistent throughout, and for each group, silhouettes of host mammals are provided with the nematode illustrations. Many of these are based on limited descriptions, and their inclusion here alerts investigators to their presence and serves as a template for possible follow-up studies on these taxa incertae sedis. |
