Description
Summary:— The tribological properties of iron-based powder composite material with the addition of graphite, alumina and zirconia nanoparticles are studied in this paper. Researches have been performed according to “composition–property” experiment design. The momentary friction coefficient in the pair “iron-based powder composite–hardened 45 steel” remains essentially unchanged over time. The minimum friction coefficient has been observed upon the addition of alumina or zirconia and the temperature in the friction area practically does not depend on the type of additive. The complicated influence of additive content on the wear rate of iron-based powder composite material has been determined. The additives synergetic impact makes it possible to significantly decrease the wear rate.
