Summary: | Given a surface energetic heterogeneity as a linear distribution function on adsorption heat, the exact solution for a new adsorption function is obtained. It is demonstrated that the interpretation of numerous experimental results associated earlier with energetic even heterogeneity of surfaces (the Temkin case) on account of linear segments of adsorption functions (isotherms) in semilogarithmic coordinates may need crucial revision. Properties of the new adsorption function as well as its limiting cases with application to the experimental data for an inhibiting composition in the benchmark-medium of National Association of Corrosion Engineers are analysed. |
