Description
Summary:The spatial structure of the population of European perch is transformed and the behavior, diet, and size–weight characteristics of perch individuals change in aquaculture conditions. Instead of an individual diffuse behavior, fish form large aggregations in a cage zone. Active consumption of high-calorie trout feed leads to a reduction in the proportion of natural food items, in particular, zoobenthos. The size and weight of individuals significantly increase. The high density of the fish community in a small part of the water area allows older perch to more successfully hunt, thereby leading to a naturally untypical acceleration of their growth rates.
