Pemberton’s Sign for Superior Vena Cava Compression

Substernal goiters (SG) may be deceptive having only a few physical signs. Pemberton’s sign is a classical objective finding to demonstrate latent pressure in the thoracic inlet. The sign is an important examination finding for students of both the surgical and allied field.
