Summary: | Lumnitzera littorea
(Jack.) Voigt (Combretaceae) is a mangrove tree sparsely distributed in South Asia, Southeast Asia and China. Being very rare in China, it is listed as one of the National Key Protected Wild Plants (Class 2) and at high risk of disappearance in China. Here we reported and characterized its complete chloroplast genome sequence assembled from short reads generated by Illumina sequencing. The total chloroplast genome size was 159,687 bp, including inverted repeats (IRs) of 26,403 bp, separated by a large single copy (LSC) and a small single copy (SSC) of 88,323 and 18,558 bp, respectively. A total of 130 unique genes, including 36 tRNA, 8 rRNA and 86 protein-coding genes, were identified. Phylogenetic analysis using the maximum likelihood algorithm showed that
L. littorea
is sister to a clade containing two species from Lythraceae and one species from Onagraceae in the order Myrtales. |
