Summary:1-D chain coordination polymer (CP) of [Cu 2 I 2 (PymPPh 2 )] n type has been synthesized reacting CuI with 2-(diphenylphosphino)pyrimidine (PymPPh 2 ) under mild conditions (MeCN, r.t.). The structure of the CP is imagined by double-stranded (Cu 2 I 2 ) n ribbons, the Cu atoms of which are bridged by the PymPPh 2 ligands in a 1,3- N,P fashion. At ambient temperature the solid-state CP manifests broad-band photoluminescence (λ max = 530 nm) with the average lifetime of 1.2 µs and quantum efficiency being 15%.
