Summary:Phosphorylation of 4-methylphenyl 2,3-di - O - benzoyl-1-thio-β-D-ribofuranoside, followed by removal of the benzoyl protection afforded 1- S -(4-methylphenyl)-1-thio-β-D-ribofuranoside 5-phosphates. The synthesized compounds showed insecticidal activity against the vetch aphid Megoura viciae Buckt in combination with low toxicity.
