Summary: | A quantitative analysis of capacity per unit bandwidth (spectrum efficiency) for various diversity schemes, when subjected to co-channel interference (CCI), is made for different adaptation policies in this research work. It is observed that among the four adaptation policies incorporated, optimal power and rate adaptation policy provides the highest spectrum efficiency, and channel inversion with policy provides the highest spectrum efficiency penalty over other adaptation policies for the diversity schemes discussed. Exact numerical improvement in spectrum efficiency and deterioration in spectrum efficiency for specific adaptation policies is clearly mentioned and discussed in detail. The improvement in the value of diversity gain is also clearly elucidated. Maximal ratio combining scheme with optimal power and rate adaptation policy yields the highest spectrum efficiency as compared to other two diversity schemes when subjected to CCI. |
