An effective multicomponent synthesis of 2,6-dihydro-2,6-diimino-4,8-bis (phenylamino) pyrimido [2,1-b] [1,3] thiazine-3,7-dicarbonitrile

Heterocycles containing nitrogen and sulphur atoms, for instance thiazines, display diverse properties such as antifungal,3 anti-HIV,4 antipsoratic5 and antimicrobial6 activities and thus are of great chemical and pharmaceutical significance.7-16 Some benzodiazepine substitutes17 of imidazo [2,1-b]-[1,3] thiazines and pyrimido [2,1-b]-[1,3] thiazines are well known antiinflammatory agents.18 Likewise, thiazoles have also been reported to possess an important role in various fields of medicinal and agricultural chemistry. IR spectra were recorded with potassium bromide pellets technique, Ш NMR spectra were recorded on AVANCE 300 MHz Spectrometer in DMSO using TMS as internal standard. The objectives of the present work are to synthesize certain pyrimido thiazine derivatives and study their biological properties. [...]an attempt has been made in this direction.
