Summary: | In essence, authors showed that the behaviour of selected African stock markets is in compliance with the cyclical efficiency invented by the proponents of the AMH. [...]it may be more appropriate to describe African markets as adaptive markets rather than inefficient markets. By implication, market participants may not view African stock markets as being anomalous in absolute form. Data extracted included annual investment returns on government securities, corporate bonds, fixed deposits, money market, collective investments, listed equities and open/close - end funds, expenses, contributions of members, total asset under management and benefits paid out to members from 2012 to 2016 when most pension schemes in Ghana were active and NPRA regulations were proactively enforced. [...]the study investigated the linkages between participation in Ponzi schemes and the intensity of household over-indebtedness. |
