Summary:Mitral stenosis and atrial fibrillation are wellknown risk factors for left atrial and left atrial appendage thrombus. On the other hand moderate to severe degree mitral regurgitation is often associated with a decreased risk of left atrial thrombus. In this case report, we present a giant left atrial thrombus in a patient with depressed systolic function, atrial fibrillation and severe mitral regurgitation.
