Summary: | All the drugs, household cleaning substances, cosmetics, pesticides, food additives and the industrial chemicals those might have harmfull effects to human, are evaluated for their possible toxic potentials before public usage. Toxicity tests are designated for those chemicals with the consideration of their target usage, exposure ways, and the duration of exposures. Their possible toxic effects are investigated via in vivo or in vitro tests by using laboratory animals or cell lines. Obtained test results may not be adaptable to humans because of several factors. In this review article, the importance of laboratory animals and human cell lines in experimental toxicology have been evaluated. |
