Summary: | This article presents the Thematic Session on feminisms, affect and politics. We engage in close dialogue with the growing field of thinking about affect, feelings and emotions in the Social Sciences and the Humanities. At the same time, we believe it is important to recover the meaningful and early contributions of feminist theories and practices to think about the political nature of affect and emotions. For this reason, we propose a nuanced interpretation of the innovations of what was called the “affective turn” in Anglo-Saxon academia. Also, we clarify the use of the conceptual terminology in this field. Finally, the presentation of the articles shows a fertile field of research and conceptual elaboration that goes beyond mere consumption of theoretical languages from abroad. |
