Description
Summary:Sol - gel synthesis method was used to prepare lanthanum doped Bismuth Titanate BLT ceramics. Structural properties of BLT ceramics were studied by X - ray analysis (XRD). Rietveld refinement of the BLT ceramics was carried out. Microstrain, domain size and density of dislocation were calculated by Williamson Hall (WH) plot method. Microstructural properties were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and it has been found that the grain size decreases with La3+ modification in bismuth titanate. Dielectric, impedance and ferroelectric properties of BLT ceramics have been investigated. •Synthesis of La3+ doped Bi4Ti3O12 ceramics has been done by sol – gel synthesis•Retvield Refinement and W-H plot gives lattice parameter, microstrain, domain size and density of dislocation•La3+ modification in Bi4Ti3O12 ceramics decreases the orthorhombic distortion•With increase in La3+ modification in Bi4Ti3O12 both remnant polarization and coercive field increase
