There are a number of different domains that benefit from mentorship, including personal, professional development, skill development, academic guidance, and research. A number of societies have formal mentorship programs available to their members, with examples including the Young Fellows Association and Women in Surgery for the American College of Surgeons, American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, and the Association of Surgical Education. |
