Summary: | Thermoluminescent(TL) materials like Li2B4O7 are majorly used for monitoring the radiations. Li2B4O7 which is a TL material is useful in personnel dosimetry. To investigate the electronic response of Li2B4O7, we have presented the Compton profile study of Li2B4O7 using 100 mCi241 Am Compton spectrometer. Experimental Compton line shape was compared with theoretical momentum densities deduced using generalized gradient approximation (GGA) theory as embodied in linear combination of atomic orbitals (LCAO) method. It is seen that the Perdew-Wang exchange and correlation potentials based LCAO-GGA profile leads to a better agreement with the experimental data. |
