Summary: | Composites of nanomaterials hold a great promise as they usefully combine the functional properties of their constituents. The present study therefore focuses on a comparison of the magnetic, electrical and dielectric properties of pure α-Fe2O3, SnO2 and their lesser-researched composites α-Fe2O3.SnO2 and α-Fe2O3.SnO. XRD was used to characterize the structure and phase purity of the nanomaterials. The magnetic properties were investigated with a Vibrating Sample Magnetometer. The electrical and dielectric properties of the pelletized samples were determined as a function of frequency. The composites may find their utility in suitable applications, due to their high dielectric constant and low dielectric tangent loss. |
