Summary: | Two-dimensional (2-D) transition metal oxides (TMOs) are an emerging class of nanomaterial. In particular, MoO3 emerged as an important 2-D semiconducting material because of its remarkable electronic and optical properties that hold promise for a wide range of applications. The present study describes the synthesis of 2-D MoO3 nanomaterial by cost-effective Microwave assisted hydrothermal method. Its structure was determined by Powder XRD to beorthorhombic structure. TG-DTA and DSC analysis of α-MoO3 has revealed that the prepared nanomaterial is stable up to 650 °C with 30% weight loss. Also, the UV-Vis spectroscopy analysis shows that α-MoO3 has wide direct band gap. |
