Description
Summary:The task of this paper is to perform a numerical simulation on a morphing winglet to see the improvements that this configuration can bring to a small-sized plane. The CFD analysis is the starting point in every aerodynamic project, as it provides reasonably accurate data before an experimental model is built. Numerical simulations were performed for 10 winglet configurations and compared with a test wing at 7 different angles of attack. A NACA 2414 profile was used for the wing at a velocity of 50 mis. The model used for the turbulent flow of the air was RANS (Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes), combined with k-s Realisable.
