Description
Summary:In this paper, we present a physics-based splitting method for nonlinear radiative hydrodynamical systems, the time- evolution of hydrodynamics coupled with nonlinear radiation, electron, and ion energies. We generalized the Simple Corner Bal- ance (SCB) spatial discretization for nonlinear radiative transfer equation with electronic temperature defined in each subcell. Furthermore, in the case to couple with other physics package in a large comprehensive radiative hydrodynamics code, which often use a single degree of freedom per spatial cell, we propose a conservative remapping of electronic energy from subcell to cell and back. The main advantages of our scheme is that it is compatible with physical properties (asymptotical diffusive limitation). Numerical tests demonstrate the efficiency of our approach.
