Summary: | The ultra race amount of amphetamine was efficiently measured using the fluorescence probe based on 8-hydroxyquinoline-β-cyclodextrin. The absorption spectra were obviously proved the static enhancement mechanism of the probe under the response time, 50 s and solution pH, 6 as optimized conditions. 8-hydroxyquinoline-β-cyclodextrin-graphene oxide (GO-CD-HQ) showed an excellent response to amphetamine in the linear concentration range (1–140) × 10−5 M, with a notable detection limit 3.67 × 10−5 M.

•A facile fluorescence probe based on 8-hydroxyquinoline-β-cyclodextrin was synthesized.•Amphetamine was measured by GO-CD-HQ with an acceptable linear range.•GO-CD-HQ has shown a superior limit of detection for target analyte.•The static fluorescence enhancement mechanism of the probe was proved by the absorption spectra. |
