Summary:The investigation of relationship between handgrip strength and cardiometabolic markers in T2DM involves determination of various biochemical markers such as fasting blood glucose (FBG), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and lipid profile (total cholesterol, triglyceride, C-LDL, and C-HDL). In addition, demographic and anthropometric measure- ments were performed for all participants (patients and healthy volunteers). The results show that there are moderate sig- nificant correlations (r = 0.22 to -0.59) between handgrip strength and fat%, FV Screener, and HDL-C for the patients with T2DM. On the other hand, there is a moderate significant correlation (r = -0.47, p = 0.04) between handgrip strength and HbA1c% in healthy volunteers. Although the study exhibits that the handgrip strength associates with the different param- eters in T2DM, the results support the suggestion that the balanced of dietary system of fruits and vegetables can signifi- cantly improvement in diabetes control.
