Summary: | The hierarchical porous MIL-100(Fe)/diatomite composites were synthesized by the assembly of microporous metal-organic framework (MOF) inside the diatomite macroporous structure. The MOF structure was formed from the diatomite as a Fe source by the hydrothermal treatment with the addition of trimesic and nitric acids. The porous structure of the samples was studied by low-temperature nitrogen adsorption-desorption. The elaborated techniques allowed synthesizing the materials with enhanced specific surface area and pore volume. Specific surface SBET was shown to increase from 29 m2/g (initial diatomite) to 88 m2/g for MIL-100(Fe)/Diatomite composites. |
