Summary: | The formation of surface defects in γ-Al2O3 obtained by pseudoboehmite calcination and plasticized with oxalic acids is reported. Physicochemical properties of the Pt-containing catalysts based on unpromoted and zirconium- promoted alumina were compared with their catalytic activity in dehydrocyclization of n-heptane. The introduction of Zr in the Pt/Al2O3 catalyst was shown to decrease the helium pycnometer density of alumina and Zr locates in defect sites of alumina. The catalyst selectivity increased with the introduction of zirconium. |
