Separation of cesium-137 from natural waters using the sorbents based on opal-cristobalite rocks

Summary: | Sorption of cesium-137 by natural silicate rocks under batch conditions was studied. The regularities of separation of cesium micro quantities from aqueous solutions were studied as a dependence on time of phases contact. Kinetic dependences of cesium-137 sorption from natural waters were obtained. Isotherms of cesium sorption by the silicate rocks are presented. Numeric parameters of the process of cesium sorption indicated the possibility of using silicate rocks for decontamination of drinking waters from radioactive cesium. |
