Summary: | The paper investigates the influence of an electrically conductive constituent on the behavior of carbon black filled polymers under compressive deformation. Parameters of electrical conductivity and compressive deformation are estimated in this research. It is found out that the influence of carbon on such parameters depends on the amount of applied load. Differences in the influence of an electrically conductive constituent on mechanical, electrical, and physical properties of filled polymers are proven experimentally. It is demonstrated that electrical conductivity is affected more than compressive deformation. The revealed behavior is concluded to be related to relaxation processes and electrically conductive constituent dispersion patterns in filled polymers. Recommendations on the selection of the electrically-conductive constituent for resistive composite polymers under a condition of compressive deformation are elaborated using the results of the conducted research. |
