Summary:In this work, the numerical study of yield phenomenon is addressed. The material for investigation is low-carbon 08PS steel demonstrating the yield phenomenon in simple tensile testing. Judging by the literature review, the number of papers carefully addressing the curves of dependencies of Lüders elongation and band propagation rate on parameters of mathematical model—namely, the amplitude of stress drop and strain hardening factor, is not large. This work aims at filling this gap.
