Description
Summary:The effect of electrolytic-plasma polishing (EPP) on the mechanical properies of austenitic–martensitic VNS9-Sh TRIP sheet steel is investigated. EPP is found to exert a little effect on the static mechanical properties of VNS9-Sh steel due to some peculiarities of the strain-induced martensite formation during static tension. EPP increases the fatigue strength of the steel by decreasing the defect-induced stress concentration in the surface layer.
