Description
Summary:The results on the studies on age and growth in Pacific flatnose (fine-scale antimora) Antimora microlepis from the waters of underwater Emperor mounting range (open water of northwestern part of Pacific Ocean) are presented. In the long-line catches the fish with body lengths of 43.5−84.0 cm and body weights of 550−5640 g at the age of 18−46 years ae noted. The specimens at the age of 24−33 years prevail (68.8%). The age of females varies within 18−46 years (30 years on average); of males, 19−36 years (27 years on average). Comparing to the specimens from the waters off Kuril islands and Kamchatka of the Pacific Ocean, the fish from the Emperor mounting range exhibit slower growth rate.
