Description
Summary:A Water-Cooled Ceramic Breeder (WCCB) Test Blanket Module (TBM) System is being developed as one of the most important steps toward DEMO blanket in Japan. As for the ITER-TBM program, the conceptual design of WCCB-TBM system has been approved by the ITER organization (IO). And two years have already passed after the start of the preliminary design activity. WCCB TBM Team had a concern about TBM box structure withstanding over 15 MPa of the coolant pressure, and decided to change the design as the result of study on structural integrity. Recently, the design change of the TBM structure has been approved domestically. So, WCCB TBM Team has applied the design change to the IO, and agreed with the IO to receive the conceptual design review which is limited the scope to the TBM structure. This paper provides an overview of the recent achievements of the development of the WCCB Test Blanket Module System in Japan.
