Summary: | Vibration and deformation will easily occur during milling the flexible workpiece because of its low rigidity, which will deteriorate the surface quality and dimensional accuracy of the final component. Researchers paid much attention to resolve the dynamic and static problems encountered in milling of the flexible workpiece, yet a review paper about the developments and advances is unavailable. Henceforth, this paper provides a thorough review of the published articles that are related to milling process of the flexible workpiece, specifically the advance and development of the modeling of milling force, and modeling and suppressing of chatter and part error during milling of flexible workpieces are reviewed in detail. At the end of the paper, the remaining challenge and some possible research directions in this filed are discussed. |
