Summary:The reaction mechanism of the formation of hybrid oligomers based on complexes compounds of metal and oligophenylene is considered. The structure of compounds formed in such a reaction is determined. The effect of the addition of dimethyl sulfoxide on the increase in the yield of the main reaction product was found, and a mechanism of this effect was proposed, based on the change in the conformational features of oligophenylene in the synthesis process. The produced oligomers are promising as binders for composites of superhard materials.
