Description
Summary:An online Master's in Health Informatics program applied Millers Pyramid of Competence to analyze assignments, assessments and learning outcomes. Faculty defined competencies and mapped courses to these competencies. Goals were to focus the curriculum beyond being knowledge-based, to include skills and professional attitudes that employers are seeking. To assist informatics faculty in transitioning assignments and assessments to meet the newly defined competencies, a tool was developed that synthesized concepts from Blooms Taxonomy and Miller's Pyramid of Competence Assessment. Suggestions for future practice and research are also discussed.
