Summary:A convenient method was developed for the combinatorial synthesis of substituted (5a S )-2-benzylthio-3-cyano-4,5a,6,7,8,10-hexahydro-5 H -pyrrolo[1,2- a ]thieno[3,2- e ][1,4]-diazepine-5,10-diones. The structure and the most probable conformation of (5aS)-2-benzylthio-3-cyano-4,5a,6,7,8,10-hexahydro-5 H -pyrrolo[1,2- a ]thieno[3,2- e ][1,4]diazepine-5,10-dione in solution was established by NMR spectroscopy and calculations using the Gaussian program.
